Boniechia

My name is Boniechia, and I am a singer and songwriter whose journey started in Cleveland, Ohio. I began singing and writing songs at 17, and those early years taught me the foundations of music: cadence, song structure, melody, and how vocals can lock into an instrumental in a way that feels undeniable.

At 18, I wrote my first song on my own and recorded it independently. That record landed on a compilation with other local Cleveland artists, and it gave me real experience working closely with producers and learning what it takes to bring a song to life from idea to final track.

After I moved to Alabama, I continued recording and writing, and I had opportunities that showed me my writing could stand in real rooms. I co wrote songs on an album connected to a Universal Records signing situation, and every song I contributed to was selected. Around that same season, I also connected with a producer from Monica’s camp who produced the first track on Just One of Them Days, and we worked together on multiple projects. Even with those doors opening, I reached a point where I had to be honest about who I was becoming and what I wanted my music to represent. I stepped away from certain paths because the content did not match my beliefs.

Later, I became one half of Shekinah and Glory, and in 2016 we released our debut album produced by Grammy award winning Kelvin Wooten. We traveled regionally, shared stages with respected artists, and I grew not just as a vocalist, but as a performer with something to say.

When I stepped out as a solo artist, my first solo release It Ain’t Over was recognized by Trackstars as an excellent, well written song, and it was nominated for Song of the Year at the Steeple Awards in Atlanta, where I was nominated alongside major artists in gospel. That moment confirmed what I already felt deep down: songwriting is one of my strongest gifts.

Since then, I have continued releasing music like Love and Dear You, and my sound has grown as I have grown. I have also collaborated with artists including ProdLamari and Zay Hill, and I have music connected to the soundtrack for an upcoming film titled What Is Love, including a collaboration with Ryder Boy called Blessings. Right now, I am focused on releasing more music that fully reflects my artistry and my story, with new singles planned for later this year.
